A New Opportunity for 2021

This new West Country Classic Series is being established with the aims of:

  • Encouraging boats to enter more than one – and hopefully all – of the participating regattas.
  • Encouraging boats from further afield to come to these West Country regattas.
  • Encouraging other classic regattas to be created or revived.
  • Helping to raise the profile and awareness of the participating regattas, both individually and collectively in the press and elsewhere.

Eligibility
Any yacht  entered in any of the individual regattas with a minimum length on deck (LOD) of 5.5m/18ft and constructed as a keelboat or displacement vessel with centreboard, will be included in the overall series placing.

Classes
Each regatta will continue to use its current class structure

Points for the Series
Points will be based on the yacht’s overall placing in each regatta entered and weighted in favour of yachts which enter more than one regatta.

Prizes
An evening prize giving dinner will take place at the end of the season with trophies for best performances by small and large bermudan and gaff/other rig boats.

The organisers of the participating regattas invite you to take part in this new series and look forward to welcoming you to their regattas.

Enquiries and entries should be made direct to the participating regattas. Enquiries specifically about the Series can be made to info@westcountryclassics.org.
